Merry Christmas!!!

Hello my lovely readers!

Here’s wishing you a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

Tonight I’m cooking dinner for my darling friends, who like me, are family-less this festive season. My father has told me to call ahead to book a few hospital beds, but lets hope it doesn’t come to that .. and if it does, then less responsibility next year! (there’s a bright side to everything, isn’t there?)

Pictures tonight! … Or tomorrow, after the insanity that is Boxing day sales!

Love, peace and christmas geese! x

Little Lonsdale

A cinema amongst the stars

Nestled safely away from prying eyes, above the hustle and bustle of Melbourne city is this gem of a place.

It required a stupid amount of exercise to access (6 stories up = 12 flights of stairs! Plus an extra 2 to get to the rooftop!), needless to say the lactic acid in our legs were on full blast and our thighs were BURNING by the 4th flight… but it was totally worth it.

Happy birthday PBK. I love you long taim! 😉

Dreamy, dreamy ceilings.

Sneak peek!

Today I laughed and cried and ate and drank to my hearts content… And then some.

It was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended, the bride was stunning as were all THREE of her designer gowns.

Its weird to think that once upon a time we were bratty kids holidaying across the globe in matching pirated Disney pajamas (our parents were incredibly cruel) and now shes this beautiful bride in her gorgeous wedding dress on such a magical day.. and uh, well I’m still a bratty kid and no one seems to want to wear pirated Disney PJS with me anymore. Weird.

There’s something special about watching a childhood family friend walk down the aisle, it’s like a little piece of genuine happiness. These people, they are family.

More pictures tomorrow. I am exhausted! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend 🙂 xo

Gym date!

Following my fourth and hopefully not final installment of a certain Miri girl, vegetating at yet another coffee shop (best past time ever) yesterday, I spent TWO hours in the gym doing combat and attack classes with this nut… And today my body is paying for it.

Granted, I am still in bed but the odd little shuffles and stretches I’m doing to keep comfortable and the pain involved in that is a clear indication of what’s to come post-wake up… A day filled with pain and regret.

In other news, my folks are arriving tonight! I’m a clingy kid and they’re only here for the wedding so I’ll pretty much be glued to their hips for the entire trip.

*inserts fathers irritated face here*

After searching ALL OVER (not really) Melbourne, I finally found a dress to wear to a wedding I am attending next weekend. Not only does it fit the criteria (full gown, black tie affair) but it’s also SO BRIGHT. Giggles. I usually gravitate towards neutral colours, but I figured I should steer clear of anything that looked remotely bride-like. The colour in the picture isn’t quite the same as it is in real life, in actuality its a very vibrant turquoise and the sequins are less gold and more bronze.

Also, it has one of those sash-type things so really its like 5 dresses in one (little bargain hunting Chinese aunty in me is overjoyed – evidently you can take the girl out of Asia but can’t take the Asian out of the girl).

Shop assistant: You can wear the dress about 5 different ways! Strapless w/ bow, one shoulder, two straps, tied at the waist etc etc bla bla bla.
Me: *does the math* THAT’S LIKE LOTSA DRESSES FOR NOT SO MUCH MONIES! (obviously math isn’t my strong suit).
SA: The colour looks incredible on your skin! Not a lot of people can pull it off!
Me: *she’s stroking my ego in all the right ways*
SA: Gorgeous dress!
Me: *grins*

Easily conned victim of consumerism.

In retrospect, she was totally complimenting the dress, not me.

ANYWAYS, I will definitely have to spend some time playing around with it to figure out what way will best suit the occasion.

Best of all, the dress didn’t break the bank because, like I said above, 5 dresses in one! (this is just me trying to justify the purchase…)

More pictures on the actual wedding day!

Brick by boring brick.
