Who says work has to be a chore?

Homesick Sundays

Sunday’s always, without fail, make me incredibly homesick.. and it doesn’t help that all my homebodies who are usually here have gone home for the holidays, or have moved to Paris (WHO DOES THAT?!)

I actually really, really enjoy being alone, but not having the comfort of them being a drive away makes me feel really uneasy. I suppose I’m lucky that my girls have found themselves such lovely boyfriends who are making it a point to take me out so I don’t die of loneliness haha, but they too, are leaving next week…. I should just take the plunge and buy a dog, they never leave.

… I also walked into a sliding door today.

Such a condescending little shit. Why is golf so damn hard?! The ball doesn’t even bloody move…

I won’t give up

Jason Mraz finally released some new tunes! Such a teaser. I need a whole album, Jason! (yeah, we’re on a first name basis).

In other news, I start work tomorrow… (can’t decide whether this statement deserves a yay or a yikes).

Dear Australia,

Warm Regards,

Auld Lang Syne

Ain’t nothing like Auld Lang Syne to get you in the mood. I’ve never heard this version before and so far it hasn’t made me cry… yet (perhaps because I’m semi watching A-Team – multitasking win) but that’s not to say it won’t. There’s something epic about this song, especially when sang in a choir, or when played on the loud speakers to a huge crowd watching fireworks that always makes me want to bawl like a big blubbering baby.

This is the first New Years in seven years I’ll be away from home and without a certain someone.. and I’m not entirely sure what to do with myself. My folks are in the Bornean bubble, my big bro is in Singapore and my second brother is being his adventurous little self backpacking around Japan in the freezing cold.

I do have a handful of my closest friends with me this year though, so I have that to be thankful for. Although, in all honesty, I would kill for an Empire party, just like the old days, before anyone had moved away from home (minus the raids of course).

Thank you 2011 for being so good to me, for the most part. I hope all of you accomplish great things in 2012.

Lots and lots of love,

The calm before the storm

Snow! (Melbourne style)

… Ok it’s actually hailstones, but it’s the closest I will get to a white Christmas for a long, long time but it was very exciting nonetheless… especially because I was rugged up and INDOORS. 🙂

It was hailing so hard that hailstorms bounced off my balcony and into my apartment! So fun! (I suspect it wasn’t as enjoyable for the owners of all the dented cars parked outside.. heh)

Christmas noms

So dinner was a success (thank god). We ate ourselves into food comas and spent a lot of the night stagnant on the couch mumbling about… I don’t even know (excessive amounts of food tends to mess with the way my brain functions… quite drastically, evidently).
