Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Happy New Year to all my Chinese family & friends! I trust all of you are enjoying eating other peoples food, drinking their alcohol and taking their money.

My family has been sending me photos of the reunion dinner food for hours, it’s so cruel! I had leftovers from lunch for dinner tonight… lovely.

I predict a lot of babies will be born this year, it seems to be a trend with Chinese people, to have dragon babies. I’m not entirely sure why. Wouldn’t you much rather a dog or a rabbit? Or at least something that doesn’t breathe fire, have wings, scales AND claws?! To each their own, I suppose. However, having said that, one of my best friends is a dragon baby, as is my closest cousin… and my own father. And I love them all to Pluto and back.

Anyways, some Sunday music for you to enjoy 🙂

Homesick Sundays

Sunday’s always, without fail, make me incredibly homesick.. and it doesn’t help that all my homebodies who are usually here have gone home for the holidays, or have moved to Paris (WHO DOES THAT?!)

I actually really, really enjoy being alone, but not having the comfort of them being a drive away makes me feel really uneasy. I suppose I’m lucky that my girls have found themselves such lovely boyfriends who are making it a point to take me out so I don’t die of loneliness haha, but they too, are leaving next week…. I should just take the plunge and buy a dog, they never leave.

… I also walked into a sliding door today.

Merry Christmas!!!

Hello my lovely readers!

Here’s wishing you a wonderful Christmas and New Year!

Tonight I’m cooking dinner for my darling friends, who like me, are family-less this festive season. My father has told me to call ahead to book a few hospital beds, but lets hope it doesn’t come to that .. and if it does, then less responsibility next year! (there’s a bright side to everything, isn’t there?)

Pictures tonight! … Or tomorrow, after the insanity that is Boxing day sales!

Love, peace and christmas geese! x

Sneak peek!

Today I laughed and cried and ate and drank to my hearts content… And then some.

It was the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended, the bride was stunning as were all THREE of her designer gowns.

Its weird to think that once upon a time we were bratty kids holidaying across the globe in matching pirated Disney pajamas (our parents were incredibly cruel) and now shes this beautiful bride in her gorgeous wedding dress on such a magical day.. and uh, well I’m still a bratty kid and no one seems to want to wear pirated Disney PJS with me anymore. Weird.

There’s something special about watching a childhood family friend walk down the aisle, it’s like a little piece of genuine happiness. These people, they are family.

More pictures tomorrow. I am exhausted! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend 🙂 xo

Gym date!

Following my fourth and hopefully not final installment of a certain Miri girl, vegetating at yet another coffee shop (best past time ever) yesterday, I spent TWO hours in the gym doing combat and attack classes with this nut… And today my body is paying for it.

Granted, I am still in bed but the odd little shuffles and stretches I’m doing to keep comfortable and the pain involved in that is a clear indication of what’s to come post-wake up… A day filled with pain and regret.

In other news, my folks are arriving tonight! I’m a clingy kid and they’re only here for the wedding so I’ll pretty much be glued to their hips for the entire trip.

*inserts fathers irritated face here*

Splish, splash.

Drove to the sticks in horrendous weather to check out a potential new home today. It is still under construction so I felt really apathetic towards the place (however, if they positioned a couch/day bed/hammock/nap capsule strategically in an empty would-be living room and had chalk drawings on the wall this would be a totally different story)

Honestly, I was more interested in playing in puddles and fussing over the agents name (Milan Kinda! hehehe) than talking business… lucky I had my cousin who works in construction with me or I probably would have dug myself a really, really expensive hole.

*splashes about like a chubby toddler*

Was fiddling with iMovie and stumbled across this old video of Kiki & Coco.

They are the cutest little shits you’ll ever see in your life and such darlings too (my brother begs to differ). What other bunnies would lie on your feet and keep them warm in the winter? Or follow you around begging for raisins?! (all, actually, but they don’t have faces or butts like these babies!)

They also ate every wire in sight and cost me thousands of dollars in damages but lets not remember them for their flaws….

Mummy loves you babygirls *tickles bunny chin fat* HEHEHE.

Sunday tea time. After a day of apartment hunting with Ed.

Box of Stones

Ok, so that Phnom Penh post is obviously taking a little longer than anticipated and unfortunately as the days wear on, so does the memory of my travels. Perhaps a quick flip through photos will jolt my memory, but I really don’t have the time (between all the sitting, eating, sleeping and bizarre conversations with a certain Ms. TooKewl *cough* I do) to go through them all now, or in the foreseeable future.

It should be noted that I’m only typing this because I am updating my phone to iOS5 and nobody warned me it would take so bloody long (perhaps the fault of my internet provider). A little part of me is dying inside because I’m so genuinely worried that I’ve done something wrong/my cable will magically get unplugged/power failure/tsunami/robbed by orang utan/etc will occur and I will lose everything on it. So to distract me from such a stressful time in my life, I have sought refuge here.
